Thai Pop’s Secret Basement Is Turning Into an Intimate Dinner Experience

It looks like Thai Pop's speakeasy, Shhhh..., served it's last cocktails last winter. Sort of. Shhhh... announced that the space is being reimagined and it sounds like Shhhh... will no longer be a speakeasy for just anyone to visit.

That makes me kind of sad! I love the speakeasy vibes, and Shhhh... was such a unique one in town. You had to go to the host at Thai Pop and let them know you wanted to go down to the speakeasy. Then they had to lead you all the way through the restaurant to the bad and down some stairs to the coolest, tropical-vibes area.

The vibes will still be great and I'm sure the cocktails will still be amazing, but it'll be a little different this winter.

Thai Pop is Reimaging Their Speakeasy

Shhhh... is going to be home to a more intimate, family-style kind of dining experience from Thai Pop chef and owner, Annie Balow.

In the announcement they write:

ThaiPop’s own Chef Annie Balow will be hosting a multi-course dinning experience below ThaiPop. Think long table, speakeasy vibes, low lights, intimate community style dining.

That's going to be so cool! Still sad that we won't be able to just pop down there for a drink, but it's a really cool concept.

Chef Annie has said before that with Thai Pop she's always wanted the food to be as she would make it if you were a guest in her own home. Now, this reimagination of Shhhh... will provide even more of that kind of vibe.

Dates and information for reservations this winter will be coming in the next few weeks, so be on the lookout!
