Wedding day is generally one of the  biggest days of a person's life. Standing with the one you love in front of hundreds of friends and family. Vowing to stay together in sickness and in health. For richer or for poorer...

It turns out that with the average cost of a wedding in Minnesota, the "poorer" part might come along much more quickly than any couple could anticipate!

Wedding website the knot, conducted a survey of nearly 13,000 brides and grooms who tied the knot in 2016, and the costs of a wedding these days is simply staggering. According to their study, the average price of a wedding day in Minnesota in 2016 came in at $27,113! And the crazy part is that figure is actually on the LOWER end of costs when compared to other states in the country. A wedding in New York City cost an average of $78,464. That's more than the cost of a two-bedroom house in some of the communities around Rochester!

And if you're looking for a "cheap" wedding, Montana and Utah appear to be among the least expensive places to get married, with both coming in with costs just north of $20,000.
