The Handle Could Fall Off Your Hammer Drill While You’re Using it
Well, that's not good! I've been using power drills a lot lately. Honing in on my inner Joanna Gaines with my home projects. While I'm not a pro with the tools, I know that a handle falling off is not good. Was that a "thank you captain obvious moment?" I apologize. Moving on...
Black & Decker has recalled nearly 650,000 hammer drills because the side handle can "slip or break during use, leading to a loss of control of the tool and possible injury."
The recalled drills were sold online and in-store between July of 2010 and this year. The recall involves side handles supplied with Porter-Cable brand model PC70THD ½ Inch VSR 2-Speed Hammer Drills, Black & Decker brand model DR560 ½ Inch Drill/Drivers, and Bostitch brand models BTE140 and BTE141 ½ Inch Hammer Drills.
Consumers should stop using the drills and contact Black & Decker for a free replacement side handle by calling 888-284-3070.
