Youtube is so much more than "Charlie Bit My Finger," it's a great source of really useful information. A new study by Google shows that the number of "how to" searches is up 70% from last year and two-thirds of young people say they can find a video that can teach them how to do anything.

I've used youtube instructional videos to learn a bunch of stuff.  A couple years ago our dryer wouldn't heat so I called a repairman who told me it would be $100 just to come look at it - Screw that! I youtubed dryer repair and found the problem was a fuse in the back. The repair took me 3 minutes and more importantly cost me less than 10 bucks.  Speaking of home repairs, we're in the middle of a kitchen remodel and we're painting our cabinets- we used youtube to get a streak free professional finish. I've also used youtube to learn how to smoke a turkey and how to tie a tie.
