The Rochester VFW Has a New Home
The VFW recently closed on a new location that is nearly twice the size of their former location. Here are the details.
They will move to a much larger location - the former Golden Corral building in Northwest Rochester. The former downtown location is 6,000 square feet on two levels, compared to the new 10,000 square foot building.
So when will they open at the new location? At this time, it's unclear. According to the Post Bulletin, they closed on the new location in late October, and the building is "pretty much gutted," so it should make the renovation process a bit quicker.
According to Jeff Kiger's Heard on the Street, the former downtown location was sold to the University of Minnesota Rochester. The building will likely be destroyed to make room for a future U of M campus.
