WHAT?! One of Rochester, Minnesota’s Newest Restaurants is Now Closed
Change in downtown Rochester, Minnesota is happening. A restaurant that opened in February is officially closed and new changes are already planned for the space.
Newer Restaurant, The Well Dining, Is Now Closed in Downtown Rochester
Some interesting news just popped up about one of Rochester, Minnesota's newest restaurants. Located in the old Dooley's Pub at 255 1st Ave. SW was a new restaurant called The Well Dining. I've had a chance to dine there a few times and just noticed the other day a sign out front with a list of the live bands that they were going to be featuring in the space. If you were planning on going to The Well Dining to grab a meal, you missed your chance.
Every day, I walk past the old Dooley's Pub location at 255 1st Ave SW in downtown Rochester. This newer restaurant was aimed to be similar to Chester's downtown and is known for its extensive interior design elements. If you haven't had a chance to see it yet, below are a few photos of the new place that my co-worker, Carly Ross, took:
Unfortunately, the plan for The Well Dining has changed. According to ABC 6 News, an announcement made by Powers Ventures, The Well Dining is officially closed as of December 10th, 2023. Instead of having a restaurant in this well-known spot, they will be making a transition to an event space.
“Although we are sad to see the restaurant closing after a year in service, there has been an overwhelming number of requests for private parties in this space. We are asked a lot about utilizing the space, and with the expansion of Mayo Clinic and the downtown community, this will allow us to cater to the needs of other businesses, events, weddings and more,” said Nick Powers, the president of Powers Ventures. “We want to thank all the staff for their dedication during this transition, as well as the community for their patronage over the last year. We are doing our best to offer opportunities within our company and local businesses to ensure our employees are taken care of in the future.”
As of writing this, the website for The Well Dining is still up but the Facebook page for The Well Dining is already gone.
When I have more information on when the new event space opens, I'll share those details over on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.
