Stomach ache? Nausea, diarrhea, cramps? It's not the stomach flu -Because there is no such thing as the stomach flu!

Most people suffering from the symptoms above believe they have the “stomach flu”. The CDC says "these symptoms can be caused by many different viruses, bacteria or even parasites." But it's almost certainly not because of the flu. They explain that the flu is a respiratory disease and not a stomach or intestinal disease.

People with the flu suffer from a fever, a cough, a sore throat, a runny or stuffy nose, muscle and body aches and fatigue.

The latest update on the flu season from the Minnesota Department of Health shows there was a huge surge in the number of schools reporting probable flu outbreaks during the week that ended January 12th.
