The low temps and upcoming storm didn't hold anyone back this weekend. A ton of people were freezin' for a reason on Saturday as they took the plunge into the icy cold Foster Arend Lake. The preliminary numbers are in and they are awesome!

According to a Facebook post by Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgeson, Rochester plungers crushed their goal of $245,000. There were a whopping 988 plungers and they raised more than $285,000 for Special Olympics Minnesota. WOW!

The Polar Plunge is SOMN’s biggest fundraiser and ensures thousands of adults and children with intellectual disabilities will be included in their community by way of sports, health initiatives and leadership training.
