The American Pyrotechnics Association says fireworks were invented in ancient China, brought to Europe in the 13th century, and traveled across the Atlantic Ocean with early U.S. settlers. Fireworks were used to celebrate America's first Independence Day, and a tradition was born.

The Fourth of July is a fun holiday full of outdoor activities like parades and BBQs, but fireworks will always be the main event. Communities across Minnesota will be holding special events, and there's one spot in the state offering a full day of thrilling fun and an epic fireworks show at night.
