Walgreens Closures to Hit At Least One Minnesota Location
We learned just a few months ago, in October, that Walgreens is going to be closing 1,200 locations over the next three years across the country. 500 of those locations they are planning to close in the next year.

Walgreens Closing 1,000+ Stores
At the time that they made the announcement, Walgreens didn't say which stores would be affected or which were potentially on the chopping block. All that was said was "that the focus is on underperforming stores."
With Walgreens locations in 93 different towns across Minnesota, some of those with multiple locations, I would think that we would be affected, unfortunately.
Some stores that are being affected are now announcing their closures, though. One of them is in Minnesota.
One Minnesota Walgreens Location Hit by the Closures
So far, only one Minnesota location is being affected by the closures as far as we know. Of course, this would only be part of the initial 500 that will be closing out of the 1,200 across the US.
Bring Me the News reports that the Egan Dr. Walgreens store in Savage will be closing its doors permanently. A sign was seen outside of the store saying: "prescription records will be available at all remaining Walgreens locations, including the other Savage location".
That Savage location will be closing permanently on January 22nd, 2025. There's still no official list of the stores that will be closing but this Savage location is definitely one of the early ones on the chopping block. We'll have to wait and see if other Minnesota locations are going to be affected.
