Where To Kiss on New Year’s Eve
Where's the best place to plant one on New Year's Eve? Believe it or not, it's not on the lips in Times Square!
If you thought that a New Year's Eve kiss in Times Square in New York is romantic or epic, Yahoo Travel wants you to think again. They have compiled a list of locations around the country that are unique and different if you're looking for a spot to smooch when the clock strikes midnight Thursday night. It all depends on your definition of romantic.
You could plant one under the stars in Death Valley, or on a beach in the Florida Keys. Maybe you're thinking Vegas, or the French Quarter. Maybe after skiing in Aspen. Or, skating at Wollman Rink in New York.
Here are a couple of thoughts for spots around the Midwest.
You could take a romantic 3-1/2 hour riverboat cruise on the Mississippi near the Arch. When I proposed to my wife, we were on a dinner cruise on The Star of Chicago, on the Chicago River. The rail overlooking the city skyline was too crowded so we found a couple of deck chairs under the moonlight. Kissing under the moonlight was pretty awesome.
My wife is a big fan of that movie Somewhere In Time, with Jane Seymore and the late Christopher Reeve. One romantic spot for a New Year's Eve kiss is Mackinac Island. There are no cars allowed on the island. You could take a romantic stroll or maybe a ride in a horse drawn carriage and kiss near the island's Christmas Tree.
Maybe you would like to make your "Declaration of Infatuation" at The Jefferson Memorial.
There are a number of other suggestions for where to kiss at midnight on New Year's Eve. Each one quite unique. Where's your most memorable kiss been?
