Minnesota Cat Cafe is Now One of the Best in the Country
Coffee and cats. What's not to like? There are quite a few cat cafes that have popped up around Minnesota and the rest of the US over the years. I remember going to Cafe Meow when they were still in Minneapolis. It was so fun!

What Are Cat Cafes?
Cat cafes, if you aren't familiar, are coffee shops with a room where you can go enjoy your coffee while hanging out with adoptable cats from a local shelter.
Dangerous, I know.
All of the cats that you can hang out with live in the cat room at the cat cafe. If you fall in love with one during your visit, you can adopt them through the shelter's website.
I'm pretty sure it's common practice for these cat cafes to charge a small fee for you to be able to get into the cat room portion of the cafe. Also, you'll want to book a time to be in the cat room in advance because the room can only hold so many people, and cat cafes are popular!
They're so popular that a list just recently came out of the top 10 best cat cafes in the US. Yes, a Minnesota one did make the list.

The Best Cat Cafe in Minnesota
The list was published by USA Today's 10 Best, where a panel of experts put together a short list of the best cat cafes in the US.
From there, we all had the chance to vote for our favorites to create the final top 10.
In the top 10, only one Minnesota cat cafe made the list, and it's Wired Whisker Cat Cafe in Duluth!
Wired Whisker Cat Cafe in Duluth, MN
Wired Whisker opened not long ago, in 2023. They came in as the 6th-best cat cafe in the US!
They have plenty of adoptable cats that you can hang out with. One thing that I love about this cat cafe idea in general is that if a cat is living there, you know that they're 1. good with other cats (if that's important for your situation) and 2. they are at least tolerant of people and noise.
Like I mentioned earlier, you'll want to book a spot ahead of time to go hang out with the cats. However, you can always just pop by the cafe for a coffee and watch the cats from the windows if you don't have a reservation.
On the weekdays, it costs $7 (plus tax) per person for 50 minutes in the cat room. On the weekends, it's $10 (plus tax) per person for 50 minutes. They also mention that kids have to be 12 or older.
If you've never been to a cat cafe before, I would highly recommend it!
