I've been a dog person since my dad brought home a puppy when I was a little kid.  As my dog gets older, I start thinking about when he won't be around anymore.  But if I die before my dog does, I can't imagine asking my family to put him down so he can spend eternity with me!

Connie Ley of Indiana passed away last month. She was the owner of a German Sheppard named "Bella." When her will was read, it stated that Connie had a couple different plans for her pet upon her passing, but the most controversial was to have Bela put down, cremated, and mixed with her ashes.

Fast forward a few days when the local TV station broke the story and it started to go viral; #SaveBella started trending and found more momentum when the the country's largest no-kill animal sanctuary, "Best Friends Animal Society," in Utah, showed their support, asking the executor of Connie's will to reconsider the options and asking those who use the hashtag to consider donating to send Bela there.

In the meantime, Bella is being held at humane society in Indiana, where he will remain alive and cared for until his fate is decided next Tuesday.
