Located on Civic Center Drive, in the Barlow Plaza shopping center area, La Poblana took top spot for tacos, according to Yelp. Many reviewers agreed that from the outside the restaurant didn't seem like much, but many also agreed that they served the most authentic tacos in town.

Nope, that's not a typo. The restaurant taking second for tacos in town, according to Yelp, is the other La Poblana location. This one is located not far from Gage Elementary School in northwest Rochester. Again, Yelp reviewers cited the authenticity of the tacos and other food, as well as the freshness of the ingredients used, as reasons they enjoyed eating there.

We wrote about this place opening up not long ago, and it is already making an impact on the taco scene in Rochester. The owners also have a taco truck, which they started running before opening the restaurant, and their loyal following is already raving about their tacos and other meals...

So, this one's actually a food truck, and I'm not sure what's up with the address that Yelp gives. According to reviews, the truck can most often be found near the Cub Foods in southeast Rochester. Visitors like to watch the tacos cooked up right in front of them and one reviewer, Vanessa S., calls them, "THE BEST most authentic Mexican tacos hands down. Straight forward, nothing fancy and delicious!"

Recently opened in downtown Rochester, Hefe Rojo has quickly become a favorite place for Mexican food, especially for those who like to frequent the downtown scene. With several varieties of tacos to choose from, the restaurant offers something for everyone.

This little spot in southeast Rochester, across from the aforementioned Cub Foods, has served up tacos and other Mexican dishes for quite some time. I've been a frequent visitor to El Carambas and I enjoy the authenticity of the food and the variety of taco choices. If you haven't been there before, it's worth the trip.
