Your Odds of Winning the Powerball Are About to Get a Lot Worse

Powerball officials are making it much harder to win a mega jackpot. 

Here's why, They are adding 10 additional white balls to choose from. So instead of picking numbers between one and 59, the range will be one and 69.

But they're taking away some of the red powerballs.  Currently you pick a number between 1 and 35, now it's going to be between 1 and 26.

The changes are to make people gamble more. The odds of winning the jackpot will drastically decrease which will lead to more massive grand prize amounts - which will create more excitement and get more people to buy tickets. The odds of winning smaller prizes will actually increase -When people win a small prize like 4 bucks they usually just use it to get more tickets.
