Last winter was brutal with the polar vortex and record-setting snowfall and unfortunately, it looks like mother nature is going to deliver a second helping of that nasty weather this year. The team at AccuWeather just released their long-range forecast for Minnesota and it looks like we're in for another nasty winter.

Their prediction actually calls for "milder-than-normal" weather into December but they warn those nicer than average days won't last long. AccuWeather weatherman Paul Pastelok says "Arctic air is expected to surge into the region at points during the season, although it's too soon to tell exactly where the coldest conditions will take hold."

The Farmer's Almanac agrees and says residents should expect a "Polar Coaster" with frigid temps and lots of snow. Meanwhile, there is a good chance that southeast Minnesota will see the first snowfall of the season this weekend. No accumulation is expected in our area but snow showers are expected on Saturday.
