Two years ago today the Capitol Christmas Tree passed through Rochester on its travels to the White House. Downtown Rochester was bustling with people and due to the frigid temperatures of about 35°F, coats and scarves were everywhere! Well except me, a silly teenager who decided to just go in just a T-Shirt and shorts after I got done with my day of interning on the morning show! Needless to say, the following day I had a cold. I took a few videos and pictures while I was there.

Overall it was a really fun experience and I would love to see it again. Whenever Minnesota is chosen again in the coming years, will you want to check it out if you missed this chance? Did you get to write on the banner or see it in person? Let us know! Before 2014, the last time Minnesota was selected for the tree was 1992!

This year's Capitol Christmas Tree is from Payette National Forest in Idaho, and will be traveling more than 3,000 miles before it is lit on December 6th. A trooper from Idaho was just recently injured in a crash while escorting the tree.

If you want to follow the tree, take a look at this site where you can track where it is and even its full route to the White House!
