It's no secret that we are all going to stuff our faces on Thursday. The majority of people say they will eat more over the holidays than they do at any other time of the year. Here are some simple substitutions that will make your meal healthier, and save you hundreds of calories!

  • Baked Sweet Potato

Instead of sweet potato casserole and marshmallows, save yourself 400 calories by making baked sweet potatoes instead. Add some brown sugar and pecans and you have yourself a healthy, but delicious treat!

  • Pumpkin Pie!

This sounds strange, I know. How can you possibly cut calories by eating pie?

Believe it or not, pumpkin pie is way lower in calories that pecan pie. A slice of pecan has about 800 calories, and a slice of pumpkin has about 270.

  • White Meat

Instead of dark meat, eat white meat without the skin. You can buy whole turkey breasts instead of a full turkey, and it’ll save you about 50 calories per serving.

  • Green Beans

Make green beans instead of green bean casserole. Even if you put butter and fried onions on top, it’ll still save you about 150 calories.
