Movoto, a real estate brokerage site, published a list of the best places for families to live in Minnesota. They took 2010 US Census data and looked at factors such as crime rates, households with children, and school ratings to come up with the top ten list.

Rochester ranks as the fifth best place for families in the state.  Here's what they say about the Med-City -

The schools and graduation rates ranked well, and the unemployment rate here was the lowest on our entire list. More than that, Rochester had the fourth lowest commute, the 15th most childcare facilities per capita, and a low crime rate to boot. This city was also easily the most affordable in our top 10, ranking ninth in cost of living, so this is definitely the way to get more family friendly bang for your buck.
