Growing up, we all had a set of rules. As a kid, some of them were pretty hard to follow. At that age we argued with our parents and wondered why it was SO important to have these rules. Now we're all grown up (some with our own kids) and finally we understand.

    Leaving Toys on the Floor

I never understood why my mom got SO mad every time I left anything on the floor, UNTIL I almost broke my ankle tripping over little man's toys. I swear, my bedroom looked like a toy store (just not nearly as neat, LOL). I was attempting to get some laundry done and I had a full basket in my arms, so I wasn't looking down. That is, until I was laying on the ground with the clothes... and the million toys. I'm sorry, mom!

    Leaving the Front Door Open

    Sibling Arguments

"If you don't knock it off, you're walking home." I may or may not have been kicked out of the car more than a few times. I thought my parents were evil kicking me out of the car, but after sitting through a long trip to Wisconsin Dells with two kiddos in the backseat, I get it now... I'm sorry, mom!

    Having the TV Too Loud

Everyone LOVES to have a movie theater-style TV-watching experience once in awhile. But you don't realize how irritating it is until you're singing "I'm a map, I'm a map" at work. That, or you have to tell them to turn down the I-pad for the 10th time because someone is still sleeping. I'm sorry, mom!
