In a recent study, approximately a quarter of all Americans have at least one tattoo. The question is, should tattoos limit your career potential? Vote here.

I literally just got back from vacation, where I ended the trip with a tattoo! I do that often, actually. It's a fun way to commemorate what I feel was a fantastic vacation. But here's the thing, as I'm standing in the shop a bit on the nervous side because of the location of said tattoo, the artist asked if I had any tattoos. I do. I actually have 10 now! That's right, 10 tattoos.

I'm very good at getting tattoos where I have the option to show them off or not. Why, because there are still many job fields that refuse to hire tattooed people. I can understand that attitude if a person has a Swastika on their neck, but tasteful tattoos shouldn't matter. It is 2016 now!

Here are some fun (and not so fun) facts about tattoos:

  • According to nearly 40% of HR managers, tattoos will STILL limit career potential
  • More than 40% of people feel that tattoos are inappropriate at work
  • 45 MILLION Americans have at least one tattoo
  • San Francisco is the most tattoo-friendly city
  • 30% of HR managers say bad breath and piercings are bigger red flags than tattoos
