Coming to a field near you in the spring of 2016, Rochester's first-ever 9-man football team, thanks to a group of John Marshall grads!

"The Med City Freeze is an amateur football team based out of Rochester, Minnesota. We're hopeful to become a team in the SPFL - a 9-man football league that is well established in the Tri-State area (Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota). Our goal as an organization is to bring football back into the Med City area and give the people something to be excited about and proud of!" (Med City Freeze via Facebook.)

According to organizers and players Jeff Sipple, Storm Soto, Tim Nela, and Jordan Pogalz, anybody over the age of 18 (as long as you've graduated high school) is welcome to try out.

If you plan on trying out, they ask that you send them a message via their Med City Freeze Facebook page with your desired position, name, and phone number.

Since the Rochester Giants stopped playing in Rochester, there has not been an amateur football team.
