The former John Marshall Rocket and Rochester native cemented his name in the Minnesota Vikings record books against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

There wasn't a whole lot to cheer about on Sunday, but at least #35 can say it was a day to remember.

Seems up until his contract extention last season, Sherels was constantly mentioned as a "bubble player" ever year in training camp. Meaning, he could possibly be cut from the squad in favor of someone more "deserving" of a roster spot.

But every year, he would shock everyone who doubted him by making the final 53 man roster for the opening tilt.

So hats off to you, Marcus Sherels. Way to make your teammates, and your biggest fans down here in Rochester, proud! SKOL!
