I don't get overly excited to watch any fights (MMA, UFC, boxing... just not my thing). In fact, I can recall every single fight I've seen on TV. I have actually gone to two fights in my life too - one in high school because one of the guys that went to my school turned famous UFC fighter overnight, and the other to see my brother when he got the wild idea to be a fighter. The problem though, the fights I've seen on TV ALL have been brutal!

One warm summer night in 1997 (you already know what I'm going to say, don't you?) I was camping with my dad. I was only 9 years old, but I can remember that day like it was yesterday - perhaps because of how scarring it is for a child to see a man bite off another man's ear?? Yep, I'm talking about the Holyfield vs Tyson fight.

The next time I actually payed attention to a fight was way more recent. I was working at a bar in town. It was packed with people standing literally shoulder to shoulder. The fights were played on the speakers so it was super loud and every TV in the place had it showing. All of a sudden a loud popping noise. Nope, not the speaker, Silva's leg! Every person gasped, some were sick, it was super gross.

No ears went missing, no legs were broken, but did anybody even bleed in this fight? Saturday's match that everybody and their dog had been talking about for weeks. "The Fight of the Century" my butt!!! It should be called "A Complete Waste of Time" If you watched it, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Even for someone who doesn't enjoy watching people get hurt, it was brutal to sit through. We were all sitting around the TV just dumbfounded, yelling "DO SOMETHING ALREADY!!"
