El Niño is expected to play a large role in temperatures this winter. That's good news for those of you that don't like the extreme winter temps that we experience here in southern Minnesota.

The Weather Channel just issued their early 2015-2016 winter forecast in which they say, "At this early stage, it appears that there is a greater chance of a warmer winter." In the article posted on their website, Dr. Todd Crawford, WSI chief meteorologist, said "The strength and location or 'flavor' of the El Niño event suggests that a very warm winter is quite possible."
