According to the Rochester Police Department, the wreck was caused when a car heading west in the eastbound lane of 12th Street Southeast near Mayo High School grazed one vehicle, then drove head on another car in the eastbound lane.

An adult and two juveniles in that car were taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital.  No names have been made available.  The two younger passengers are listed in serious condition. The driver of the "wrong way" vehicle suffered minor injuries. Police are continuing the investigation as to why that driver was heading the wrong way, but alcohol is suspected.
