Are Rochester Residents Living the American Dream?

Smartasset.com just listed the best cities for living the American Dream in 2018 and Rochester came in at number 10. The financial website admits it is tough to define "the American Dream" but they used data on five metrics to compile their list. They examined homeownership rate, diversity rate, upward mobility rate, median home value and unemployment rate.

One reason Rochester ranked so high was the fact that the city is one of the best in the country for working women. The Med-City's high homeownership rates and potential for career growth also earned praise. Smartasset.com says Rochester would have been even higher on the list if it weren't for the lack of diversity. They say Rochester ranks 235 out of 257 in diversity.

 West Valley City, UT was at the top of the rankings with an unemployment rate of only 2.9%.
