Undated (KROC-AM News) - A deadly streak on Minnesota roadways that began last week continued through the weekend. At least four people were killed in traffic crashes statewide since Friday, raising the death toll since last Wednesday to at least 11.

One of the most recent fatal crashes occurred Sunday morning in Fillmore County where a man from Cresco Iowa died in a collision on Highway 43 just south of Rushford. The State Patrol says 64-year-old Richard Engelhart was driving north when the driver of a southbound SUV lost control and slid into his path around 8:30 am. The 21-year-old Spring Grove woman driving the SUV was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Two other traffic fatalities were reported yesterday in northern Minnesota. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department says two 25-year-old men were killed in separate crashes. A 52-year-old Bloomington woman was also killed in a crash involving a semi-truck west of Minneapolis on Friday.

Seven of the traffic deaths were reported last Wednesday and Thursday, starting with a crash near Thief River Falls that claimed the lives of a woman and her two young children.
