Minnesota State Park Makes List of Best State Parks in the US
Did you know that we have 64 state parks in Minnesota? I've loved visiting all of the ones that I've been to (which apparently isn't even close to all of them). But somehow only one Minnesota state park was recognized as one of the best in the country.

The Best State Parks in The US
Thrillist put the list together and it has a total of 36 of the best state parks in the US. They write that the list is made up of "the cream of the state-park crop, from the wildlife that encircles the craggy spires of the Rockies to roaring waterfalls and hidden beaches hiding just out of sight."
They didn't say that these are in any particular order but I have to assume that they're in order from best to... less best. So let's take a look at their top 5!
5. Valley of Fire State Park - Overton, NV
4. Iao Valley State Park - Wailuku, HI
3. Baxter State Park - Millinocket, ME
2. Makochika State Park - Glendive, MT
1. Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park - Big Sur, CA
Minnesota's Best State Park
But, of course, the state park that we care about on the list is the one in Minnesota. Like I said earlier, I can't believe that there is only one Minnesota state park on the list. We have some pretty amazing state parks here!
Nevertheless, the Minnesota state park that Thrillist says is the best in the US is Tettegouche State Park.
I've been to Tettegouche once and it was beautiful! I'm not surprised that it was selected by Thrillist for their list.
