If you are trying to plan a weekend getaway or a staycation in Minnesota, and would like to add a bit of uniqueness to your stay, check out these great AirBnBs across the state. Because if you are going to do a staycation this summer because travel can be fairly pricey right now, this might be the way to go.  And it's fun.

According to Lizanne Lately's website, there are a few of these cool places to stay in Minnesota.  Some are just for a couple getaway, others would be great for a family getaway.  So it really matters what your need is.  Try and do a long weekend at a couple of these throughout the year.

There is a treehouse, a silo, a jail, a tiny house, a dome and more!

This one is a silo located in Clear Lake.  Apparently it's for anyone 12 and up.  So not really for little kids.  Fishing opportunities all over, and the views from up in the silo are amazing.

You could choose to be a bit more rustic with this hostel located in Grand Marais.  Grand Marais was also ranked as the best small town in Minnesota.  Lots of outdoor things to do.  Great hiking, fishing, quaint restaurants, and kid of off the grid if that is what you are looking for.

These grain bins are located in Alexandria.  So not too far away from St. Cloud, so an easy drive to stay in these renovated grain bins.  There are a few layouts to choose from.

How about a log cabin stay?  This one is located in Ely, and looks like it would be super cozy in the winter.  Sit by the fire, go snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or whatever other winter activity floats your boat.  Perfect place for any of those things.

This has got to be one of the cooler things on this list.  It's a dome room where you can choose to look at the stars or cover it with a shade of sorts.  You get to choose.  And it has everything you need!  There's a kitchenette, a shower, bathroom, a fireplace and awesome views.  This is located in Lutsen.

Here's one for the family - let's stay in a treehouse!  And it's like a cabin in the city.  This treehouse stay is located in Cottage Grove.  So, stay somewhere unique, fun and cool, and still have everything you might need for modern conveniences very nearby.

How about getting a taste of what tiny house living would be like?  This tiny house is located in Faribault, and is available through airbnb.  I have always said that I think that having a tiny house for a cabin or weekend stay would be amazing.  Not sure I could do that for your full time living, but it is intriguing.

Wanna stay in a yurt?  This kind of reminds me of the dome stay in Lutsen. Difference being that maybe the views are not quite as good.  It's still a round dome type place.  But without the 360 degree views.  This yurt is located in Esko.

Hey - it's like a tree house, only not a tree house.  It's a house on stilts!  At least it would keep the unwanted critters out. This one is located in Crosslake.

Ok. This is a bit weird.  It's a renovated jail.  But not TOO renovated.  You are still sleeping in a cell.  But the this airbnb also has a kitchenette, bathroom, and you are not locked in a cell, even though you are essentially in a cell. Yikes?? By the way, this is located in Wykoff.

So, there is the list of 10 cool and unique airbnbs to rent for a weekend getaway, or maybe longer. There are probably more than just these 10.  Would love to see some of the fun stays that others have found.
