Minnesota Singer Competes in the Battle Round on The Voice
The competition has now moved into the Battle Rounds, where team members go head-to-head in a duet, and the coach must decide who moves forward.
On the October 14 episode, Kennedy was paired with Aubrey Nicole to perform "Somethin' Bad" by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. The high-energy duet earned a standing ovation from the coaches.
Coach Niall Horan was the first to react, saying:
Aubrey, you crushed… Cori, What the Hell?! That was so awesome!
Snoop Dogg also praised both singers, saying he’d pick Cori if it were up to him.
In the end, it came down to Reba, who chose Cori Kennedy to advance.
Reba chose Cori Kennedy as the winner of this battle round, saying, "I had to choose Cori because she's real country, got that grit. … She's feisty and powerful.”
Reba also used her “save” to keep Aubrey Nicole on her team, meaning both singers will continue in the competition. The Voice returns Monday, October 20, at 7 p.m. on NBC.
