COVID-19: Lowest Number of Deaths in 2 Months
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Minnesota today exceeded 1300 but the number of fatalities reported today was the lowest in over two months.
The Minnesota Department of Health today reported six new COVID-19 deaths statewide. That is the latest daily total since April 12th and raised the overall death toll two 1304.
COVID-19 related hospitalizations continue to trend lower. 353 people are currently hospitalized due to the coronavirus illness and 186 are being treated in intensive care units.
State health officials say they were made aware of a computer error this morning that could impact the accuracy of some of the statistics reported today. Specifically, the Department of Health says the number of tests completed and the number of new infections may be too low. It also calls into question the accuracy of the report showing there were no new infections in Olmsted County yesterday.
