Coyote Hunter Shoots Himself in the Foot

Preston, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Chatfield man was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital Monday evening to be treated for a gunshot wound.

Fillmore County Sheriff Tom Kaase says the 29-year-old man was inside a vehicle when he apparently shot himself in the foot with a high-powered rifle. The incident, which remains under investigation, occurred around 5 PM near the Fillmore County Airport. Sheriff Kaase says the victim had been hunting coyotes before the shooting occurred.

The man’s name has not been released.
