Dave’s Top 5: Ross Moments
Happy 49th birthday to David Schwimmer, who played Dr. Ross Geller on Friends! It's been eleven years since the show was on television, and almost a year since it started streaming on Netflix. What are some of the best Ross moments?
You remember Friends, right? A show about six...um, Friends in New York? It started out as a show about Ross and Rachel. Rachel Green was the drop-dead gorgeous friend of Ross Geller's younger sister, Monica. It was all about the missed opportunities until they finally connected. And then broke up. And then connected again. I won't spoil the ending of the series, but...they finally got back together in the finale.

The Gellars are Jewish, and Ross wants to teach his son, Ben, all about Hanukkah. He goes to the costume shop for a Hanukkah-themed costume...and comes up with this. Chandler walks in dressed as Santa, and then Joey walks in dressed as Superman. Santa and Superman sit with Ben and learn all about the Maccabees.

Around Season 7 or so, when Chandler and Monica got engaged, Ross started to develop some anger management issues. He took his Thanksgiving turkey leftover sandwich to the university and put it in the refrigerator, only to have it taken and eaten by someone else, I think it was the dean. Ross was a little upset. He also got upset when he found out Chandler was "seeing" Monica.

Ross and Rachel were on and off for most of the early seasons of Friends. After they broke up, Ross met Emily, who was from London ("London, bay-bee!"). One thing led to another and there was a wedding in London and Ross uttered those memorable words...

Ross has a new apartment. He needs new furniture. So he buys a sofa. He chooses not to have it delivered to save money. Hijinx ensue.

Ross and Rachel had a stormy relationship. It finally broke down and Rachel said they should take a break from each other. Sometimes we don't actually mean what we say. Rachel's break, was not exactly Ross' break. He hooked up with the girl at the copy store. It was a sore spot for the rest of the series, and Ross kept saying the same thing, every time.
