As you know this Memorial Day weekend could be one of the hottest on record. That's bad news for the hundreds of people running the Med City Marathon, Half-Marathon and 20 Mile Run. The organizers, Final Stretch, sent an email to all participants this afternoon.

The email said they are in "continuous communication with the Mayo Sports Medicine team" and are monitoring the forecast for Sunday morning. "While we are hoping that the event will continue as planned, the Medical Directors are very concerned with the high temps, high humidity and low winds forecasted for Sunday morning."

A final decision on whether to change, cancel or keep everything as planned will be made tomorrow morning.

I am running the full marathon this year. If you are, please be careful. Take your time and make sure to hydrate.
