Downtown Rochester Sculpture Will Soon Interact With You
The 30-foot long, 14-foot high stainless steel sculpture was installed in December and is now in its final stages of completion. Meaning, in less than 2 weeks the sculpture will interact and respond to people.
How? Through sending messages at a kiosk inside the Civic Center. According to the Rochester Art Center, "these messages will be translated into braille, which will then be assigned to a musical scale. Visitors will hear and see the braille illuminate arc of the main sculptural form. This interaction creates a conversation between the people inside the Civic Center and the public outside viewing it."
How cool is that?!
And you can meet the artist - Po Shu Wang. He will talk about the process of creating his art piece, what inspired him and highlight the impact of interactive art. The event is free. When: Wednesday, June 6th from 6p-8p. Where: The Rochester Art Museum.
