On Thursday morning, representatives from First Alliance Credit Union presented the Jeremiah Program with a $7,500 donation. The Jeremiah Program is a nonprofit in Rochester, Minnesota that provides housing support and other assistance to single mothers and their children.

First Alliance Credit Union President and CEO, Michael Rosek, said “One of the foundations for success in any community is helping some of its most vulnerable members. We are proud to partner with and support the Jeremiah Program to help single mothers and their children in our community, to not just survive, but thrive.”

A press release says the donation will be used to provide "individual coaching, support, and advocacy, as well as supporting the wide variety of educational workshops the organization facilitates for the families in their programs."

Ally Hanten-Ebert, Executive Director of the Jeremiah Program, is thankful for the support, "All too often, single mothers are forced to choose between providing for their children and investing in themselves. With the generous support from partners like First Alliance Credit Union we are able to help single mothers further their family’s future by disrupting the cycle of poverty.”

On its website, Jeremiah Progam explains that it supported over 80 families in 2021 with an average income of $13,362. The non-profit helps single mothers work toward college degrees, provides quality early childhood education for the kids, career training, and safe and affordable housing.

First Alliance Credit Union will continue working with the Jeremiah Program and will be providing "financial literacy support and education to the families in the program for 2022."
