Stop complaining about how hot it is! Winter is only a few months away and experts are saying that La Niña will impact weather all around the country.

So what is La Niña?  According to NOAA, "La Niña means The Little Girl in Spanish. La Niña is also sometimes called El Viejo, anti-El Niño, or simply "a cold event."

AccuWeather forecasters are expecting La Niña to develop late this fall. Here is their early prediction on what that means for the United States:

Heavy snowfall in the Northeast, mainly dry conditions in the Southeast, drought conditions in the Southwest, stormy conditions in the Northwest, and periods of BITTER COLD temps in the Upper Midwest.

That sucks, right? The good news is that forecasters are predicting a nice end to summer and a pleasant fall. Dr. Todd Crawford, chief meteorologist with The Weather Company says temps will be pretty close to average for our region through October.
