If you're like me, and have a sweet tooth, all summer long you've probably had a taste for ice cream. Maybe now it's become a taste for hot cider or hot chocolate.

Have you ever wondered why the spoon in a McFlurry has a square, hollow handle? It can't be used as a straw, so what's up with that?

SomeLife, home of all those someecards you're sharing on social media faced the question and found an answer from a McDonald's employee who is also an engineering major.

The answer is pretty simple and amazing. According to the engineering major employee, a typical plastic spoon is kinda flimsy, and would break in the ice cream. Plus the square handled spoon is easier to make. You can see both the question and the answer here.
