Here’s How Many Weapons Were Confiscated at the Government Center Last Year
In the first year of screening people upon entry at the government center here in Rochester, one in 10 had something prohibited. Here are the stats.
Nearly 100,000 people were screened from May 2nd 2016 through May 2nd of this year. That totals about 400 people a day. Of those people, more than 1,000 had weapons. According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office "that includes items that were seized, turned over the Sheriff's Office at screening point, returned to the person's vehicle, and found disposed prior to entering the screening point."
