2025 Minnesota State Fair Ranked 5th-Highest in Attendance – Which Years Drew Larger Crowds
With the Minnesota State Fair wrapped up and the official numbers out, it was announced that this year's state fair was the 5th highest-attended in history!
Nearly 2 million people entered the gates of the Great Minnesota Get-Together in 2025, and that doesn't surprise me. The weather was PERFECT this year with just a bit of rain and comfortable temperatures.

Even though we only broke one daily attendance record this year, 2025 still managed to be among the most attended Minnesota State Fairs in history.
How Many People Attended the 2025 Minnesota State Fair
The official count is 1,940,869 people who came to the fair this year. So close to 2 million!

The only daily attendance record we broke this year, though, was the first Monday when 145,022 walked through the gates. The previous record was 144,504 in 2017.

Despite only one record-breaking day this year and a whopping five record-breaking days last year, we still beat the overall attendance over last year.
The Highest Attended Minnesota State Fairs of All Time
If 2025 is the 5th-highest-attended state fair in history, what are the other 4?
The fourth most-attended Minnesota State Fair was in 2016 with 1,943,719 people. We were just barely under that this year!
The third most-attended fair was in 2017 with 1,997,320 people.
Second-most was in 2018 with 2,046,533.
And the highest-attended Minnesota State Fair was in 2019, with 2,126,551 people going to the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
Then COVID happened and screwed all of that up. We kept going up in attendance and breaking records year after year, and then the fair had to be canceled in 2020.
I bet we'll get back up over 2 million people sometime soon. That's my prediction, at least.
