Is There an Age Limit in Minnesota for Trick-or-Treating?
If you don't have your costume yet, you'd better find one fast because it is almost Halloween! I just bought all the candy for the trick-or-treaters that will be coming to my house and I hope that I got enough.
Speaking of trick-or-treaters, is there an age limit on how old trick-or-treaters can be in Minnesota?
Is There An Age Limit in Minnesota for Trick-or-Treaters?
When my kids were little, I didn't even think about if it was "ok" for them to get dressed up in costumes and go to random houses asking for candy. They get all of their favorites to enjoy and I sneak a few of mine too. (FYI, that's called parent tax and it is completely legal!)

As my kids got older though, I wondered how old was too old to ask strangers for candy during Halloween. Was it wrong to let my kids go trick-or-treating with their friends when they were 14 years old? What about when they are 15 or 16?
Here's What Minnesotans Said About The Age Limit for Trick-or-Treating in Minnesota
I asked some of our fans what they thought the age limit was for trick-or-treating and it was pretty obvious from the responses that you would all be ok with my teenagers showing up and taking your candy.
What's the "Official" Answer About the Age Limit for Trick-or-Treating in Minnesota?
I searched quite a few publications to see if there was an overall answer that shared the limitations for trick-or-treaters. In the entire world of the internet, there doesn't seem to be a great answer to this question. I did find this piece of helpful info though from Parents.com:
A nationwide "official" trick-or-treat age limit is clearly a fraught issue with no clear answer. Municipalities with age-restricting laws say it's in the interest of public safety, but many parents of tweens and teens disagree. The sentiment that teens, if not trick-or-treating, might get up to more dangerous activities on Halloween night is common, while parents of young children may worry that their little ones' magical night might be ruined by rambunctious teenagers. - Parents.com
In regards to an age limit in Minnesota, I couldn't find any age restrictions for any specific area in Minnesota. There could possibly be a town or city that has curfews for kids or specific rules for trick-or-treating, but if those restrictions are in place, that info isn't communicated very well to the public.
