Drunk Driver Sentenced for Killing 2 at Minnesota Tavern
St. Louis Park, MN (KROC-AM News) - The man responsible for the deaths of two people during a drunk driving incident in the Twin Cities last year has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Fifty-seven-year-old Steven Bailey was behind the wheel of a vehicle that crashed into a crowded patio at the Park Tavern in St. Louis Park after it collided with two parked vehicles at the business on September 1, 2024. The criminal complaint says his vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck multiple customers and killed Christina Folkerts and Gabe Harvey. A dozen other people were injured.
The charges against Bailey stated that tests put his blood-alcohol concentration at more than four times the legal limit. Court records also indicated that Bailey had a history of drunk driving offenses.

He was originally charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide and nine counts of criminal vehicular operation. Prosecutors later added two counts of third-degree murder and an additional three counts of criminal vehicular operation to the case.
In May, Bailey entered into a plea agreement and admitted to two counts of third-degree murder and three counts of criminal vehicular operation.
