Criminal Conduct Not Suspected in Death of La Crosse Woman
La Crosse, MN (KROC-AM News) - While the cause of her death remains under investigation, police in La Crosse are indicating that it does not appear there was any criminal conduct related to the death of Eliotte Heinz.
The body of the 22-year-old Viterbo College graduate was found in the Mississippi River near Brownsville, Minnesota, Wednesday morning. The Houston County Sheriff's Office reported that a fisherman located the young woman's body near the Lawrence Lake Marina.
Heinz was reported missing on Sunday. La Crosse police indicated that she was last seen walking along the street shortly after 3:20 that morning. Family members stated that she was on her way home from a local bar.
A statement issued today by the La Crosse Police Department says the finding that criminal conduct was likely not involved was based on preliminary autopsy results. Final autopsy results are not expected for several months.
