Southeastern Minnesota Man Killed in House Fire
Spring Grove, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Houston County Sheriff's Office is reporting a fatal fire occurred Monday afternoon.
A news release says Houston County dispatch received an emergency call about a fire at a residence in Spring Grove at around 2:15 PM. Deputies and the Spring Grove Fire Department responded to the property at 512 2nd Avenue in Spring Grove.
Firefighters from Caledonia, Eitzen, and Mabel also responded to the fire, along with Spring Grove Ambulance.
The news release says, a short time after emergency responders arrived at the scene, a body was found inside the burning home.
The victim was identified as 62-year-old Karl Onstad. The Sheriff's Office says an autopsy confirmed that foul play was not involved in his death.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is assisting the Houston County Sheriff's Office in investigating the cause of the fire.
