Why Josh Duhamel Left Hollywood for the Middle of Nowhere Minnesota
It's not too often that you hear about a celebrity who lives in Minnesota. There are plenty who were born here but don't live here anymore (I'm looking at you, Christ Pratt and Jessica Biel).
But there's one celebrity who lives in Minnesota with his family. He didn't even grow up in Minnesota! But he loves the north woods so much that he decided to build a home there for his family.
We're talking about 'All My Children' and 'Transformers' star Josh Duhamel.

Actor Josh Duhamel Lives in the Middle of Nowhere Minnesota
Earlier this year, I shared with you that Josh lives in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. He grew up in small-town Minot, North Dakota, so it makes sense that he and his family are loving the more remote life compared to life in LA.
They live so remotely that, as he told Parade earlier this year, the nearest store is about 40 miles away!
But they're still obsessed with this way of life. Josh purchased the land about 15 years ago and started building a home for his family there.

And now they have an amazing home that, I'm guessing, is in the Detroit Lakes area. (I'm guessing that because back in 2021, Josh posted a video doing the Polar Plunge for the Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes.)
He said, “'You really get a chance to get back to the basics. You're not consumed by all these other distractions. When you're out there, it's really about having fun, making sure everybody's warm, everybody's got food and water.'”
Now, there's an interview out from People where they asked... why? Why did he decide to move to Minnesota?
Why Josh Duhamel Decided to Move to Minnesota
The plot of land, about an hour and a half from Fargo, ended up being perfect because Josh felt he had a 'calling' to get 'back to the basics'.
He told People, "'I make movies and TV shows, and I love it, I truly do love it, but I had this calling to go and really do things with my hands again — fix things, make things and just do the basic things that we take for granted.'"
