
Woman hurt, Horse Killed in Minnesota Amish Buggy Crash
Authorities say the buggy operator was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Department at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with non-life-threatening injuries.
Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News)- A woman was hurt and a horse was killed when a pick-up truck smashed into a horse-drawn amish buggy on a rural southeast Minnesota road over the weekend.

That’s according to a news release issued Monday morning by the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 911 call regarding the accident shortly after 7:30 Saturday morning.

Pick-Up Smashes Into Amish Buggy Near Spring Valley, MN- Woman Hospitalized, Horse Killed
The crash occurred on Fillmore County Rd. 8 north of the 250th St. intersection, which is about three miles northwest of Spring Valley.
An investigation determined a southbound pick-up smashed into a southbound horse-drawn flatbed buggy, the news release says.
Authorities say the buggy operator was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Department at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with non-life-threatening injuries.
She is described as a 26-year-old woman. Her name has not been released.
Authorities identified the pick-up driver as 63-year-old Daniel Sheldon of Stewartville. He was cited for duty to drive with due care.
The news release does not indicate he was injured.
