Mill Valley Kitchen in Downtown Rochester Permanently Closes

Summer 2026 was tough on local businesses across Rochester. From long-time favorites like Cheap Charlie’s calling it a wrap after 58 years to newer additions shutting down, the dining scene took some heavy hits. See 8 businesses that closed this summer at the bottom of this story.

Mill Valley Kitchen in Downtown Rochester Permanently Closes

Mill Valley Kitchen opened in 2024 in the space formerly occupied by Pescara on Broadway.

This one is a big bummer for me because it was a favorite of mine for happy hour and appetizers downtown. The restaurant thanked the community in a press release that was published by KTTC:

Thank you to the Rochester community for welcoming us, dining with us, celebrating with us, and allowing us to be part of your lives. Thank you to our regulars, our downtown neighbors, and everyone who supported Mill Valley Kitchen along the way.

The statement also acknowledged the team members who kept the dining room running every day: "We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of the Mill Valley Kitchen Rochester family."

While the Rochester space has closed, Mill Valley Kitchen’s flagship restaurant in St. Louis Park will remain open.
