America’s Best Appetizers Are Found In Restaurants All Around Minnesota

Amanda from Byron, Minnesota chatted in during our morning show today to ask if she was weird for never ordering entrees at restaurants. She gets an app and that's it. I've done that before, but never ordering a main dish seems a little strange to me.

That chat led to us creating our Mount Rushmore of appetizers. My favorites include the Bloomin' Onion, Chips and Salsa, Texas Roadhouse Bread/Rolls with honey butter, and egg rolls. Cheese curds aren't as popular around the country as they are here in the upper Midwest. I love them and especially like when restaurants put their own twist on the fried cheese balls like The Tap House in Rochester which serves Buffalo Cheese Curds with Frank's Hot Sauce.

America's Favorite Appetizers Can Be Found All Over Minnesota

The team at Delish put out a top-ten list ranking the best apps and you can find most of them here in Minnesota.

The incredibly delicious Cheddar Bay Biscuits from Red Lobster made the list. These are so good and they're free which is a nice bonus.

The biscuits are so popular that Red Lobster sells the mix in grocery stores so you can make your own at home.

There are more than a dozen Red Lobsters in Minnesota. 

When I saw that Olive Garden was on the list, I assumed it was for their breadsticks which are pretty tasty. Nope, Delish says the best app at Olive Garden is Lasagna Fritta.

It's fried Lasagna. I've never had it, but I can't wait to try it.

There are 7 Olive Gardens in Minnesota. 

The Brew Pub Pretzels and Beer Cheese Dip from Applebee's was recognized as one of the best apps in the country.

Delish said, "The pretzels are puffy and salty and the beer cheese dip could truly go on everything. I had a spiritual awakening with these damn pretzels!"

There are 46 Applebee's restaurants in Minnesota.

The number 1 appetizer according to Delish can be found at America's favorite Steakhouse.

I'm more than happy with just the bread and honey butter at Texas Roadhouse, but they say you need to order the grilled shrimp. Their review says, "It was garlicky, buttery, and made me want to get up and dance."

There are four Texas Roadhouse restaurants in Minnesota.
