Kindergarten teacher Kelly Klein loves to teach. She loves it so much that even after getting the news that she has ovarian cancer for a second time, and this time it's not curable, she continues to teach her students at Falcon Heights Elementary School over Zoom during treatment. And now, Kelly is getting a well-deserved bedroom makeover from a non-profit called My Happy Haven.

You might recognize this story. We talked about Kelly and her journey at the beginning of January. If you want to read more, you can find the story HERE. But I had the co-founder of My Happy Haven, Lisa Tan, reached out to me and tell me about the bedroom makeover that they're giving to Kelly.

Lisa and her team had a Zoom call with Kelly over the weekend to talk about the bedroom makeover, how she wanted it to look, get an idea of how important her room is to her. A quote on My Happy Haven North Iowa's website is "There is no more a sacred place to a woman than her bedroom."

The bedroom makeover for Kelly will happen on February 24th and 25th with the big reveal to Kelly on Friday, February 26th. Reveal pictures will be posted on My Happy Haven North Iowa's Facebook page. When Lisa and the team were talking with Kelly they decided on a beach-y/lake-like atmosphere because she lives on a lake.

These bedroom makeovers are free to the women receiving them but My Happy Have could use our help to pay for the expenses if you would like to donate to Kelly's bedroom makeover you can do so HERE and click the "Donate" button. They also are in need of the donation of services. Some of the services needed include painters, hotel lodging for the My Happy Haven staff, and a certified electrician. You can learn more about what is needed to make this bedroom makeover for Kelly happen on the Facebook post below.

Below is my interview with Lisa if you would like to listen! We talked about My Happy Haven, Kelly's bedroom makeover, and how you can get involved. My Happy Haven is hoping more people across the country will hear about the organization and want to open up their own branch in their part of the US.
